Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programs are systematic plans to identify, assess, and control hazards, and respond to emergencies. The related system that MYTCL utilizes to enhance safety was previously the British system of OHSAS 18001, however in June of 2019, MYTCL wsuccessfully converted to the newly designed ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management system.

In order to obtain knowledge on OHS Management System implementation, MYTCL offered OHS training to MYTCL employees across all departments within the organization. MYTCL’s officers studied various categories of Officer Course Level- 1, Level -2, Level -3, and the Train the Trainer Course as lectured by Daw Catherine Soe Soe Aung, Lead auditor and Principle Consultant of Green EHSS Consultancy Co. Ltd. 31 employees attended the officer Level -3 course and 18 employees for Train the Trainer course. The next stages of development will be to have the newly trained MYTCL trainers start to train all of the employees within the entire organization. Chinese trainers will be brought in during the 2019 year to train the management of these ISO systems in coordination with the HSE Director of MYTCL, Mr. Wallis.
