Nowadays, the new virus of COVID-19 is spreading all over the world. COVID-19 has been described as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is one of the viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. This virus is transmitted through the respiratory system typically through coughing and sneezing, or direct touching of infected surfaces or persons.

Today, the COVID-19 virus is starting to spread throughout our country, Myanmar. We are therefore collectively starting to take precautions in our Mine Town area under the lead of the newly developed Mine Town Health Management Working Committee, financially supported by MYTCL management. At each entry gate, the committee has enlisted 3rd party Security forces to measure the temperature of entering persons by infrared thermometer. Also, wash basins and soap are made available. In addition, Mine Town residence and staff family-owned vehicles are being permitted only by Resident vehicle permission cards. For the outside vehicles, a Guest vehicle permission cards are arranged before entering to our Mine Town area. The committee has commenced the Community Based Facility Quarantine-14 days to the returnees from overseas and from the border areas according to the Ministry of Health & Sports, as well as the Honourable State Councillor’s instruction, Aung San Suu Kyi. A Home Quarantine-14 Days has been implemented for those who are returning to home from the virus-stricken zones. Preventive measures are being taken seriously by MEHL, MYTCL and the Mine Town community on the whole every day.
