This project was dedicated to the ongoing conservation efforts of the Myanmar Yang Tse Copper Limited Company to continue to develop and preserve the lands of the mine lease once they have completed their mining purposes. Strategically placed, this Fish Pond Project is in the middle of the MYTCL lease, and home to a diverse range of wildlife and aquatic fauna. The purpose of this project is to nurture and grow fish to maturity, and then to release them into the waters of the Yama Stream, or into the Chindwin River, in order to give back to the environment and fortify the biodiversity of the waterways in and around MYTCL.
U Win Myint and his Environmental Officer U Aung Thet Swe spent many hours preparing the project with their teams. The management of MYTCL was very proud of their hard work and contributions to saving the environment, and their outstanding leadership and preservation of the environment in line with the ISO certification 14001:2015.
