For more than 2 decades the S&K Mine has been an active member of the communities it is located in. Philanthropic Programs began with the Ivanhoe era.

They constituted small donations and educational talsk to the communities and o the schools in the region.

In 2011, MYTCL began to expand it's social and community development programs, accelerating and enhancing the donation budgets. In 2012 a Mobile Medical Team hit the dirt roads and went directly into the villages, allowing commuities to receive direct mobile medical healthcare for minor issues, and to refer patients with potential health risks to proper facilities.

On 1-December-2014 Daw Shining Moon,  a Staff Nurse of the MYTCL Mobile Medical Team gave an in-depth talk regarding personal hygiene to the boys and girls who are students in Basic Education High School of the Kankon Village of the KyaukMyat Village Tract in Salingyi Township, of the Sagaing Region.
