The village of Gondaw, located directly on the banks of the Yama Stream, sits on the precipace of the flood plains of the Chindwin and Yama convergence. Village Administrators contacted MYTCL management on the 3rd of August calling for soil and sandbags to help hold back the rising torrents.
A total of 1,200 villagers inhabit this village within 210 households. From the 4th of August through to the 6th, MYTCL delivered truck after truck of soil and bags to aide the village fight against the flowing waters. Over 20 truckloads were delivered and villagers grateful as MYTCL moved on to the next village in need.
