Since the late 1990's the S&K Project Owners have made it part of their Philanthropic Programs to include in their community relations School Talks with the surrounding villages. Today, under the direction of MYTCL and in cooperation with MEHL, these talks continue to make a positive impact within the communities.

The School Talk Program includes the leadership of personnel from the PR & CSD Department, and with the QHSE Department, and is scheduled once a month for the schools within MYTCL areas. This month the talks were held in the Gondaw Primary School. In order to enhance student’s knowledge regarding environmental issues and health care, MYTCL professionals share their experiences and answer childern's questions about the mining organization. There are many topics within the project such as safety, environmental concerns in copper production methodology, personal hygiene, and most critically the the team focuses on the manners in which the MYTCL company is maintaining its environment stewardship in line with international standards.

The Headmaster, U Kyaw Swar Win, 5 teachers and 55 students attended this program with much interest, and received informed responses in a transparent and open dialogue from the MYTCL staff. The responsible representatives from the PR & CSD Department contributed stationary for the students on behalf of MYTCL as is customary of such visits.
